This is a useful tool for when you simply need to achieve long IEEE1394/FireWire cable runs.
This DV repeater is a rugged and small, self powered digital repeater that will let you join Datavideo 6-pin 20 metre cables or any other 6-pin 1394 cables. When you use multiple units with Datavideo 20 metre cables you can produce a successful run up to an impressive 200 metres.
This tiny DV repeater takes its power from the 6-pin IEEE1394 cable. Please confirm that you have a device (eg a computer or mixer) at one end of the cable which can provide power via the 6-pin firewire connector. The VP-314 is not suitable for use where there is only a 4-pin connection at each end of the chain.
It comes complete with wire ties and has slots to secure the 1394 cables. Allowing you to attach the repeater and cables to the ceiling, lay them in a cable trough or keep tham on a cable roll for staging/event applications. It also includes an "active" LED so you can tell that everything is working properly at a glance.
