Overview

The MMC-5HD High-Definition Capture Card provides the most complete multi-format MPEG2 encoding/decoding solution for HD and SD video capture.

The MMC-5 HD is directly compatible with the ProxSys PX Media Asset Management Ingest Station, and it employs multiple high-speed hardware codecs optimized for real-time encoding/decoding of the XDCAM format.

The MMC-5HD SDI input accepts 1080i/720p HD or PAL/NTSC SD inputs from decks, cameras, switchers, converters or any other SDI source and encodes in one of a variety of XDCAM and XDCAM EX formats. For playout, the MMC-5HD outputs XDCAM and XDCAM EX encoded material via SDI.

Multiple MMC-5HD cards can be combined together in a single ProxSys Ingest Station for multi-channel capture. By using the XDCAM and XDCAM EX format, content that is captured with the MMC-5HD via SDI can be easily combined with pre-encoded content recorded with an XDCAM EX camera and this can be easily ingested into ProxSys utilizing the Media Import Utility.
